Currently lead developer on the backend of a hospitality booking platform at CI&T, owning core services and the platform’s authentication layer. My focus is the unglamorous part of senior engineering: services with clean boundaries, code that survives the people who wrote it, and infrastructure choices that don’t paint the team into corners three years later.

I’ve designed CQRS services and GraphQL gateways with Hot Chocolate Fusion on one project, and diagnosed memory leaks and rewritten unperformant database operations on another. I’m pragmatic — sometimes the right call is clean architecture, sometimes a sharp tactical fix to unblock the team today, and the senior judgment is knowing which.

Comfortable in client and stakeholder conversations, demoing features without prepared scripts, and helping across whatever lines the team needs. The work gets done; the boundaries matter less than that.

I’ve also fully integrated modern AI tooling into how I build software — a daily user of agentic coding tools, fluent across models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Moonshot, and others. I treat them as accelerators for design, exploration, drafting, and review, and that’s still rare among senior .NET engineers.

Lead developer on the backend sub-team of a greenfield .NET microservices platform for hotel and long-term stay bookings — working alongside a tech lead and another senior engineer within a wider cross-functional org.

  • Contributed to core architecture decisions: CQRS, mediator pattern, service boundaries, and a GraphQL gateway using Hot Chocolate Fusion to compose subgraphs across services.
  • Designed and built the standardized internal NuGet packages used across the platform (Event Hubs, Service Bus, event contracts, cross-cutting concerns) to enforce consistency and reduce per-service boilerplate.
  • Built the authentication and account management service from the ground up on ASP.NET Core Identity. Evaluated Auth0 and Entra ID against a custom build; customization needs made vendor options comparable in effort, so we owned it for full control.
  • Built and own several microservices end-to-end (reservations, notifications, properties, file uploads, membership/auth, Fusion gateway), integrating third-party services (MEWS, DocuSign, HubSpot).
  • Consumed and helped shape Azure infrastructure: SQL, Event Hubs, Service Bus, Key Vault, Container Apps, Managed Identities, APIM, App Service, Managed Redis.

Built an integration layer between two social housing platforms to synchronize tenant updates, leaves, and related lifecycle events.

Microfrontends platform — Jul — Sep 2025

Built new pages across multiple microfrontend apps and authored an internal NPM package distributing the shared UI system consumed across all of them.

Stepped into the tech lead role for an internal banking platform managing loan processes, used by 500+ concurrent employees at peak. Inherited a system with significant technical debt and performance issues, and led the effort to stabilize it while continuing feature delivery.

  • Led the technical direction for a team of 2–3 engineers alongside a product owner and scrum master — owning architecture decisions, code review standards, and the technical roadmap.
  • Diagnosed and resolved the platform’s core performance and stability issues — memory leaks, unperformant database operations, poor page-loading patterns — by rewriting the worst offenders, introducing caching where it materially helped, and adding monitoring and observability so regressions could be caught early. Navigation became smooth, pages loaded near-instantly, and the platform stopped crashing under load.
  • Maintained and evolved the GraphQL-based BFF integrating with the bank’s core banking APIs, balancing new feature work against the cleanup effort.
  • Managed CI/CD pipeline work on Azure DevOps, ensuring reliable deployments across environments.

  • Took ownership of complex modules end-to-end, from requirements through production, collaborating closely with product owners and front-end engineers.
  • Refactored legacy areas of the codebase to improve maintainability and performance, laying groundwork for the broader stabilization effort later led as Tech Lead.

Sole engineer on a commercial integration platform connecting e-commerce systems (Prestashop) with ERP (Primavera BSS), deployed across ~20 B2B customers — from small catalogs (50–100 products, ~15 orders/day) to large operations (400+ products, 2M+ pricing rules, 600+ orders/day) — with bidirectional sync of customers, orders, products, pricing tiers, and tax codes.

  • Owned the full product lifecycle end-to-end: development, deployment, customer onboarding, support, and pre-sales (webinars, technical demos, requirements gathering directly with customers).
  • Led a re-architecture replacing the legacy per-customer/per-version forks with a unified codebase supporting multiple Prestashop versions and Primavera V9/V10 in parallel — significantly reducing onboarding time and making client-specific integration requirements much faster to implement.
  • Built and maintained supporting internal tools and smaller ASP.NET MVC applications across the same .NET stack.

Live incident map with fire-risk forecasts, weather observations, satellite hotspot detection, and firefighting aircraft tracking — aggregated automatically from official public sources (ANEPC, ICNF, IPMA, NASA FIRMS). Non-profit and ad-free, with a public GraphQL API. Built and operated end-to-end as an independent alternative to Fogos.pt.
